First, what does "blue lizard"
stand for? It's a combination of 'Liz' (the
Lizard) and 'Uli' (who likes blue things).
Liz is from Michigan and Uli is from Bühl
(Baden), Germany. Since we are both transplants,
we hope to be able to contribute something
to people interested in Chicago who come
here for work or play, to live here or just
visit.
For all of you who are co-expatriates or
generally interested in 'something different',
see the page with helpful hints on shopping
for imported stuff and how to deal with electrical
voltage conversion, TV systems, and funny
things like 'feet' and 'inches' in general.
2006 update: ironically, we are now BOTH
expats in yet another country (France). Luckily,
we have found that the experience is much
less stressful the second time around - despite
insurmountable obstacles as the language!
